It was just a few weeks ago when I mentioned this new plugin which was then in an alpha version. Kieran took the feedback provided and incorporated some of the key items into his current 1.1 release.
The two biggest challenges that were required to install the alpha version, requiring you to edit PHP code to add your streams, and creating a custom page within your template, have been removed. You can now add your Lifestream items in a friendly options page and invoke the stream either in a custom page or widget with one PHP command. So it should now be a fairly simple matter to get it installed and running.
As he continues the development effort of his plugin, he urges people to submit comments and feedback for upcoming versions. If you run Wordpress you should give this plugin a try.
Got an email from Amit about a plugin he’s written to provide Lifestreaming for users of Textpattern content management software. The plugin was born out of Amit’s desire to have more flexibility and control over his Lifestream than he had while hosting it at Tumblr. As with many other scripts and plugins as of late, he’s chosen to use Simplepie for the feed parsing.
You can see the plugin in action by viewing his Lifestream. It has a sweet style and definitely has that Tumblr vibe goin’ on. Amit actively updates his plugin and has a recently baked version 1.61 available for download. If you are in the Textpattern camp, you should definitely give this plugin a shot.

I recently got word from Kieran Delaney about his new Lifestreaming plugin for Wordpress called Simplelife. It’s based on the Simplepie RSS parser instead of the built-in MagpieRSS one that has issues and is used by some of the other Wordpress Lifestreaming plugins out there.
It’s currently an Alpha version and although I haven’t tried it yet, it appears to offer some good functionality and have a nice layout. I’m hoping that a future version will make the addition (and editing) of the feeds easier. Perhaps from the admin dashboard as opposed to having to add / edit them in a php file.
