They don't appear to have added those feautures on the latest update as I would have expected them to. I personally started using email once I realized how to control the auto-posting and hadn't used the iPhone app since. They really need to fix the issues you point out along with adding auto-posting options to make it viable over using email. Kelly, I agree with you regarding Picposterous. But now that I think about it, FeedBurner delivers emails using your own email address, which can be registered as allowed email on Posterous. No clue how it renders though, worth a test.
