Kelly, I agree with you regarding Picposterous. They don't appear to have added those feautures on the latest update as I would have expected them to. I personally started using email once I realized how to control the auto-posting and hadn't used the iPhone app since. They really need to fix the issues you point out along with adding auto-posting options to make it viable over using email.

i tried the picPosterous ap, and it seemed to make sending photos more difficult.

the ap appeared to be especially counterintuitive to using posterous as a twitpic replacement because it only sends updates when an album is initially created, not each time a batch of photos is added to the album. the other huge drawback was having to add photos one by one, instead of being able to select multiple photos for a batch.

is there something i'm missing? it just does not seem functional.

posterous is more of a conduit than an aggregator. the way i understand posterous is that its main function is to disperse, not collect information.

i use posterous to disperse my updates across the web, including to my wordpress site, which aggregates all my posterouses along with updates from other services into a single lifestream.

Unfortunately Feedburner has only the daily digest option and the result is weird. See http://flapic.posterous.com

Yes, if a service provides a unique email you can add it to your contributors list to allow it to post to your Posterous.

I had tried with direct emailing but it didn't work as there's no way to verify those "secret emails" that services assign you to post. But now that I think about it, FeedBurner delivers emails using your own email address, which can be registered as allowed email on Posterous. No clue how it renders though, worth a test.

No Flavio, there is no native way to import into Posterous. However since posts are done by using email I'm sure that a hack could be done to email individual items from an RSS feed. Hmmm...now you got me thinking :)

Mark, I personally use and love Mobypicture.com especially for its integration with all mobile platforms and most twitter clients.

Speaking of posterous, people say they use it as their lifestreaming (a-la-friendfeed) but I can't seem to find a way to import data. Is there any?
